The Charlie King Classic bike tour during the CORFAC International Fall Summit in Atlanta was a massive success! Listing Coordinator Stephanie Hoopaugh spent a great deal of time helping make the bike tour the best experience as possible for CORFAC visitors taking a tour of the city. Below is Stephanie’s account of that incredible day’s events, and what all she, King Industrial Founder Charlie King, and other bike riders had the opportunity to see and discover in Atlanta.

We began our tour with Bicycle Tours of Atlanta at 1:00pm with Mr. King leading the ride.  Our first stop at the King of Pops warehouse to learn the history of Decatur Street.

Next stop was Sweet Auburn District where Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was born, preached, and led the modern day Civil Right Movement, learned about the rose garden, and saw where he was laid to rest.

We discovered an extensive collection of street art and murals in Cabbage Town, along the Atlanta Beltline and Krog Tunnel.

We stop to see the home of the Co-Founder of Coca Cola, Asa Griggs Candler.

We rode the streets of Inman Park stopped on the famous Jackson Street bridge to see the Atlanta skyline.  This spot is the most famous spot for movies and photos of the city.

Rode by the historic Old Fourth Ward skate park that was built by the Tony Hawk foundation.

Halfway we stopped for a quick lunch break where we had delicious pizza from Firepit Pizza Tavan.

We ended the tour cruising through Oakland Cemetery where we learned of one of our own Jason McCart family member Jasper Smith who passed in 1918.  We also stopped to see where the “Gambler” Kenny Rogers was laid to rest.

We appreciate all of our CORFAC Summit visitors for choosing to come to Atlanta!
